In order to better serve the student body, The Envoy asked you, members of the Hunter College, community what you would like to see in your student newspaper. Here's what you had to say: "You should definitely keep abreast of the budget issues. You should do profiles of students who are doing something interesting, something related to their education, good internships, good jobs.

Dear Hunter Community:

We were distressed to learn that certain posters and displays by the Hillel Student organization in celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the founding of Israel were vandalized and defaced on the third floor cross bridge leading to the North Building.

MtvU Needs To Get its Greasy Tongue Out of My Ear

The news in a recent issue of The Envoy that MtvU has its eyes on Hunter College cafeterias is troubling for numerous reasons. Few things are more odious to me than the idea of "several television screens in well-trafficked areas on campus" broadcasting MTV's noxious brand of "youth culture.

For as long as I can remember my family has been friends with Steve, a security guard in our neighborhood. Even though he was something close to thirty years my senior, I always enjoyed talking to him. In addition to being a security guard, he was first and foremost a public high school teacher.

Where Are All the Voters?

A recent email to the Hunter community about the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) elections encouraged students to make their voices heard in last week's contest. Only 554 of our 22,000 students did so, and I, a self-proclaimed voting queen, was not one of them.
